3 transport officials held by CID in coal syndicate case

GUWAHATI: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam Police have arrested three Enforcement Officers of Assam Transport department on Saturday following their interrogation in connection with their alleged involvement in a cola syndicate operating in the state.

The three arrested officers were: Mrigen Sharma, Chitra Kumar Nath and Madhav Neog. The arrested officers were interrogated in the CID headquarter here before their arrest. Another three Enforcement Officers, Tapuram Bora, Anurag Shandilya and Bedanta Gogoi were let off by the CID following their interrogation.

The CID sleuths also interrogated for tax department officials – Ratul Mahanta, Pawan Nath, Ratul Logastu and Harshabardhan Bora — in connection with the same case on Saturday and allowed them to go after the quizzing.
