Centre releases 3 months’ salary to Nagaon, Cachar Paper Mills

GUWAHATI: Union Ministry for Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises on Saturday released three months’ salary of the employees of Nagaon Paper Mill at Jagiroad and Cachar Paper Mill at Panchgram of Hindustan Paper Mills Corporation.

The central ministry has released the fund to Hindustan Paper Mills Corporation required for paying the three months’ salary of the employees working in the two paper mills of the state.

In a statement, Assam chief minister Sonowal thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises Anand. G. Geete for releasing the three months’ salary of the employees of the two paper mills.

It is to be mentioned that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had been pursuing the matter relentlessly with the central government and he held discussions with the Prime Minister and Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises for releasing the salary of the employees. On the other hand, the process of revival for the paper mills has also started.
