Deborah family to ‘share’ water with Rilbong locals

SHILLONG: The family of former minister Deborah C. Marak will “share” water with the residents of Dunoon Compound, Rilbong, twice everyday.
A water tap was inaugurated on Saturday. The headman of Rilbong, DS Mawlong, said giving water to the residents is a welcome move as the dry season has already set in.
“The family drilled the water for household use but seeing the quantity of water available, they decided to share it with the Dorbar and the residents of Rilbong,” he said.
Marak’s daughter Meghna said the tap will be open for residents from 7-8 am and 5-6 pm. Mawlong said the water is of good quality and fit for consumption but outsiders are restricted.
