SHILLONG: With the financial constraints affecting the GHADC, the state government is planning to review the administrative functioning of the council.
Though there is a change of guard in GHADC with NPP leading the alliance, the pending salaries of its employees and other financial issues may affect its functioning.
District Council Affairs Minister James Sangma said it was unfortunate that the council had been functioning with a lot of problems in the past.
“Now there is a new dispensation in GHADC and we hope that CEM Dipul Marak will be able to collaborate with the government to tide over the financial crisis,” James said.
To a question on the financial position of GHADC, the district council affairs minister admitted that there is a need to review the way the council administration is functioning.
“We are examining the matter to streamline its functioning,” James added.
