Shop at Tura market gutted

SHILLONG: A shop inside the Tura super market was gutted in a fire on Monday afternoon.
Police said that the fire engulfed room number 305 in the market around 12.30 pm due to short circuit and was doused within an hour. Police said that the shop was closed when the incident occurred and the damage is being assessed.
The fire reportedly started from a electric heating plate used in the shop. The shop on the second floor of the market was completely destroyed in the blaze.
It is said that the damages are expected to be around Rs 10 lakh as most of the goods were burnt in the fire.
