Assam impersonators arrested in Tura

TURA: A four member gang from Assam who were attempting to make a quick buck by impersonating as members of an NGO and a vigilance body that checks for adulteration of fuel were apprehended in their act on Tuesday afternoon in Tura.
The four men, Troilen Deka, Rahul Choudhary, Kanak Baishya and Pitus R Marak initially tried to exert their influence in the premises of the oldest fuel station in Tura- S C Das petrol station at Hawakahana.
They claimed to be members of the NGO Jana Jagran welfare association which fights for civil rights and went a step further by claiming to have been given the authority by the central ministry for consumer affairs to check for adulteration of fuel supply.
The gang had visited several fuel depots in and around Tura before they were taken into custody from the S C Das fuel station after an alert owner informed the police.
