SHILLONG: Cabinet Minister, and Pynthorumkhrah MLA, AL Hek on Wednesday conducted an on the spot inspection of the ongoing beautification of Polo area in the city.
During the inspection, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, officials of the Urban Affairs department and PWD were also present. Speaking to media persons, AL Hek said that there were some land issues pertaining to the project and once the land issue was sorted out, the project would come up shortly.
As per the plan, the beautification project would have rotary, high mast lights and other utilities.
The work for the project has started and the project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 9 crores.
The beautification of the area is in tune with the government’s plan to construct a Time Square-like structure at Polo.
