‘Khabah’
Fisheries Minister Comingone Ymbon led the House into laughter after he suddenly uttered ‘Khabah’ (Common carp) when Congress MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh inquired about the most reared species of fish in the state.
Again, when Lyngdoh asked on the places where the fishes are being marketed to, the minster said Laitumkhrah market which is also Lyngdoh’s constituency.
Shift from ‘Ampati policy’
The House witnessed another moment of laughter when NPP MLA Rakkam A Sangma ( Rongara-Siju) spoke about ‘Ampati policy’ hinting at former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma’s constituency, saying that ‘for 5-6 years, we have been focusing at Ampati policy, this time please have a look at South Garo Hills and Baghmara policy.’
Road repair
HSPDP MLA Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar urged PWD (Roads) Minister, Prestone Tynsong to look into the repair of the road from Mawjyrsim to Mawthong in West Khasi Hills as cultivators travel along the road head load with vegetables.
Tongkhar said that the road needs to be repaired before the onset of the monsoon to ease the people of those villages. Tynsong said that the matter will be examined.
