Women’s panel for speedy probe into Khliehriat murder

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW) has urged the authorities to speed up the investigation to arrest the murderers of Fullness Lyngdoh, who was found with her throat slit at her residence in Khliehriat .
MSCW chairperson Theilin Phanbuh told reporters on Thursday that they have taken up the matter with the District Administration of East Jaintia Hills and have called for a thorough investigation into the matter.
The 30-year-old, mother of 11-yr old son, was found dead in her bedroom.
Expressing concern over the growing cases of crime against women in the state, Phanbuh said that the commission has been organizing awareness programmes to alert the people on crime against women and children, urging upon all stakeholders to come together to eradicate the social evil.
The commission has also urged the Delhi Commission for Women to do a follow up on the recent murder of Wandarisa Kongor whose decomposed body was found in the national capital recently.
