SHILLONG: Rajabala legislator Azad Zaman has requested the government to re-construct the 93-kilometer Agia, Medhipara, Phulbari, Tura (AMPT) road at the earliest. Zaman said he had taken up the issue in the Assembly expecting speedy action on the part of the government.
According to him, the road is lifeline for the people of Garo Hills and it had been left unattended.
Earlier, Phulbari legislator Esmatur Mominin had also taken up the construction of AMPT road.
The AMPT road links Tura through Phulbari before touching another road in Agia. The project was initiated by DoNER and entrusted to PWD for construction.
