SHILLONG: Governor Ganga Prasad on Saturday approved the names of the MDCs proposed to be included in the Executive Committee of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
An official informed that the governor cleared the file and it would be communicated to the state government on Monday morning.
The notification in this regard will be issued by the District Council Affairs (DCA) Department.
Earlier, the UDP leadership in Jowai had threatened to pull out of the MDA government following which Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday forwarded the file related to the appointment of Executive Committee members of the JHADC to the governor for his assent.
As per the list, the JHADC Executive Committee will be led by UDP’s Moonlight Pariat while the other UDP MDCs in the Executive Committee are Lamdibok Sumer, Chemhok Garot, Bison Iano, Chanki Lyngdoh, Laitsing Shylla, Hermon Phawa, Laski Rymbai and Suk Shylla.
The two Congress MDCs who have been included in the Executive Committee are Firstmoon Dkhar and Winning Sungoh.
