SHILLONG: Another case of public assault of a woman in Garo Hills has come to light after a video went viral on the social media.
The video shows a group of men beating and kicking a woman on the road as she pleaded to stop it. A man was also seen pulling her hair.
SP West Garo Hills R Kumar said the woman is from Ampati in South West Garo Hills.
A preliminary inquiry has been made and police are on the task to find more information about the incident. Attacks on women are on the rise in Garo Hills.
Three cases have already been reported this year.
Three persons were arrested recently in a case of moral policing.
Also, another video showed a Garo woman being attacked in Goalpara for being with a Muslim man.
