Hajong body condoles former president’s demise

TURA: The Central Executive Body of the Meghalaya Hajong Welfare Association (MHWA) has condoled the recent and untimely demise of Late Dhabal Ch Barman, the founding president of the association.

According to the association, Late Dhabal Ch Barman was elected as a member to the GHADC for three consecutive terms (1972-1988). He was also elected as member of the legislative assembly in the year 1988 and became minister taking charge of several portfolios under the then P A Sangma led Congress Government.

“The sad demise of Barman is a huge loss to the MHWA and the entire Hajong community as a whole who remember him as a source of inspiration through his contributions to the society. We extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members,” the MHWA said.
