HSPDP leaders quit taking blame of poll debacke

SHILLONG: Leaders of Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) have tendered their resignation to the vice-president, K P Pangniang on Tuesday taking the blame for the debacle faced by the party in the last Assembly election in Meghalaya.

In a statement issued here, the HSPDP media cell informed Kara Shen, General Secretary, Shemborlang Rynjah, Joint Secretary, Grossper Ryntathiang, Organising Secretary, Pynshongdor Nongbri Finance Secretary, Londoner Sohtun, President Youth Wing & Media cell in-charge, Ronald Kharshiing, Secretary Youth Wing, Alester Diengdoh, Legal cell in-charge, Bobby Majaw, CEC Member, Prain Sing, Syiemlieh CEC Member and Defender Pakem, CEC Member have resigned from the party.

Asserting that the blame for the recent Assembly election debacle should not be directed only to former president, Ardent Basaiawmoit, the members stated they took the collective responsibility for the performance of the party in the recent election.  According to them, Basaiawmoit as president of the party has worked hard to strengthen the party.
