High voltage damages electrical appliance in Shillong area

SHILLONG: A sudden flash of high electrical voltage in the city on early Thursday morning led to the damage of electrical appliances in many houses in Jhalupara

Residents said that the incident happened on Thursday morning when high voltage damaged, refrigerators, Xerox machine in a shop besides wi-fi of some of the residences.

The sudden occurrence of high voltage also damaged the electrical bulbs in many houses in the locality.

Several attempts were made to contact the MeECL complaint cell of the area but there was no response.

Later, an official said that   the high voltage might have occurred due to   harsh weather conditions

He also informed that the MeECL team reached to the spot and rectified the problem.
