TURA: Barely two days after angry citizens of Garo Hills had taken out a protest rally against sexual assaults on women and children, another case of rape has taken place.

A fifteen-year-old girl from a remote village in South Garo Hills was brought over to Rongjeng town in East Garo Hills by a man with the promise of a love story.

The man, who reportedly happened to be married had taken the teenager to stay in another house to avoid detection by his wife. It was there that two of his friends took turns to sexually assault her.

By the time neighbours came to know of the incident the two accused had fled the scene. Police on Friday arrested the married man who brought the victim from her village.
