SHILLONG: UDP MLA from Khliehriat Kyrmen Shylla said investigation into the murder of RTI activist and Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) president Poipynhun Majaw is in progress and assured that the perpetrators will be arrested.
The Cabinet minister said he was ashamed that the incident took place in his constituency.
“The matter is still under process and I don’t know why it is taking so much time. But I believe that one day the truth will come out,” the minister said and added that police are alert.
It is yet to be ascertained whether Majaw was murdered or it was an accident, Shylla said.
Majaw’s body was found in Khliehriat on March 19 and police found a wrench, two Rs 500 notes, a pair of spectacles and a motorbike from the spot.
Referring to the RTI activist, Shylla said, “Someone came to our place to help us but then the murder happened. The police doing their job well and the truth will come out.”
