Japan keen to have business ties with N-E

SHILLONG: Ambassador of Japan in New Delhi, Kenji Hiramatsu has urged the business community in Japan to do business here in the North East region including Meghalaya.

The Japanese Ambassador Kenji Hiramatsu, on Monday called on the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Meghalaya Governor, Ganga Prasad

During the meeting with the Chief Minister,  the Ambassador of Japan discussed on possible linkage and relations with Japan for economic growth and development of Meghalaya in the field of agriculture and other allied sectors.

Later, speaking to media persons after meeting the Governor, he said that Japan attached great importance to the North Eastern region   in the field of   infrastructure development and business opportunities.

“We would also like to have cooperation in the field of food processing and Japanese businessman doing business here,” he said

Stating that the cultural exchange between Japan and   North East India was very much in common, he also added that the North East region had lot of potentials in different fields.

On the other hand, Meghalaya Governor, Ganga Prasad said that both countries would give cooperation to each other even as he claimed that the bilateral relations between two countries would further improve.
