DC warns committee over noise pollution

TURA: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh has issued a warning to the Hindu Samshan Bhoomi Committee for allegedly violating the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, by playing loud music well into the night during Puja celebration recently, and disturbing the peace of surrounding areas.
The warning came after members of the Lower Hawakhana Development Committee, on behalf of residents submitted a complaint in this regard to the DC recently.
“Causing of such sound is a violation of the rule. Therefore, in order to maintain peace, tranquility and communal harmony in future, you are hereby strictly warned to maintain strict compliance to the terms and conditions that is given in the permission in future,” the DCs order read.
