Accident
On May 22 around 12 noon, one Maruti Swift car (ML-04C-4780) driven by Pynshngainlang Kahit (32) skidded on the road and dashed against a guard wall at Puriang. The driver and five other occupants of the car sustained injuries and were admitted at a hospital for treatment.
On May 22 around 2:00pm, an accident took place between one car (ML-04A-0598) driven by Haisar Law (37) and one Tata-409 mini truck (ML-04A-2311) at Pasyih village in West Jaintia Hills. Haisar Law died on the spot.
Assault
Kron Moksha of Mawkynrong village under Umsohlait Police Station in Ri Bhoi lodged a complaint stating that on May 20 around 10:00 pm, one Shirup Lapang assaulted his minor son Elishar Lyngdoh (15). The victim sustained injuries and was shifted to PHC Mawhati for treatment.
Body found
On May 23 around 5:20 am, the dead body of one unidentified male (50/55 yrs) was found lying on a footpath at Polo Bazar.
Fire
On May 22 around 2:00am, a fire broke out in the house of Dinesh L Mawlong at Nongspung under Pillangkata outpost in Ri Bhoi.
Body in teer counter
On May 23 around 5:20pm, the deceased body of Yadav Rana of 4th Furlongwas found hanging in his teer counter at Polo Bazar. The matter is now under enquiry.
Theft
SW Pde lodged a complaint stating that on May 21 around 12:50pm, unknown miscreants stole her mobile phone from her room at Civil Hospital.
Sengnachi S Marak lodged a complaint stating that on May 18, unknown miscreants broke into her house at Balsrigittim, Williamnagar and stole one laptop computer.
