Man found dead
On May 27, Hobarson Kharkongor (50) was found lying dead in his temporary residence at Wahiajer village. Necessary formalities have been observed.
ATM vandalised
In the intervening night of May 26 and May 27, unknown miscreants vandalized the ATM Kiosk and machine at Pohkseh Central, Shillong.
Drugs seized, two held
On May 25 around 11 am, two persons, Hiba Marak and Kajab Tajum who were inebriated were seen at Madanrting, Block-F and one of them was carrying a machete. Following this, some people took them to Madanrting PS, where the police recovered 10.98 grams of suspected heroin and Rs. 13,844 from their possession. Police arrested the accused.
Theft
On May 26, an unidentified person stole a bag containing cash Rs. 20,000 belonging to Jerry Sumer from a shop counter at Jingkieng Nongthymmai, Shillong.
On May 26 around 4 pm, miscreants broke into the house of Shehab Ahmed Siddique at Laban, Shillong and stole cash of Rs 1 lakh.
On May 25 around 3.20 pm, miscreants stole one cell-phone and a purse containing Rs 700 in cash and gold earrings belonging to Sayorita NK Syiemiong, while she was on her way from Motphran to Mawlai Kynton Massar.
Assault
Binoy Kumar Singh lodged a complaint that on May 26, two unidentified persons who were travelling in a Scorpio vehicle (ML-05R-8001) assaulted him near Pantaloon, Jowai Road, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Suicide
On May 25, Julendra Hajong alias Tipu Hajong (36), reportedly committed suicide by hanging at Bolchugre, Tura (WGH). Necessary formalities were observed.
Principal’s office robbed
A complaint was lodged that between May 25 and May 26, miscreants broke into the Principal’s office at Laitumkhrah Presbyterian higher Secondary School, Shillong and stole one laptop, LCD Projector, etc.
