Ad hoc teachers meet CM, demand deficit scale

SHILLONG: The Federation of All Meghalaya Adhoc Secondary Teachers’ Association met the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to discuss the need for upgrading ad hoc schools of Meghalaya into the deficit pattern. The association pointed out in 1993, nine ad hoc secondary schools were brought under the deficit pattern and since then no further upgradation has taken place. The association also asked the chief minister to enhance the salary of ad hoc teachers, stating that Rs 20,000 per month was an injustice to the ad hoc teachers who are qualified and follow the same rules and norms like government and deficit schools teachers of the state.
