UDP youth wing extends support to HLC

SHILLONG: The UDP youth wing, Shillong City has extended its support to the High Level Committee (HLC) appointed by the government to study the relocation of residents of Sweepers’ Colony.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, president of UDP Shillong City youth wing, Alwyn Swer said the solution will be to find a new and suitable place for the relocation of residents of Sweepers’ Colony.
Meanwhile, general secretary of Shillong City youth wing, Manbha Syiemlieh expressed concern on the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and will meet the DC to discuss the matter.
Another member of the youth wing, Anthony Nongbri spoke on the need to withdraw the curfew imposed in the volatile areas and the Shillong agglomeration.
He also came down heavily on the rampant misuse of social media which has affected the people in the state.
