SHILLONG:  Senior leader of National People’s Party (NPP), Prestone Tynsong has fired another salvo at the former Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma accusing him of converting the  then Congress-led Meghalaya United Alliance (MUA) government into a company.

Talking to media persons here on Monday, Prestone Tynsong said that Mukul Sangma had converted the previous the state government as a company which if he wished, it could be done and if didn’t wish, it would not be done

The statement came from the  NPP leader following reports that Ranikor MLA, MM Danggo  is likely to join the NPP if Chief Minister Conrad Sangma fulfils the demand to upgrade Ranikor administrative unit to a civil subdivision.

Tysnong on Monday told reporters that MM Danggo on several occasion had requested the upgradation of Ranikor into to a civil subdivision  which was justified and necessary  but Mukul Sangma  failed to do anything on the matter.

“Instead he (Mukul) only approved Ranikor as administrative unit which I fell is just as good as saying no,” he said while informing that   he would accompany chief minister Conrad K Sangma to Ranikor on Tuesday  to hold talks  with the people based on which a decision would be taken

Asserting that   75 per cent of Ranikor is inaccessible and it is the duty of the state government to make sure that it goes closer to the people, he said that the  party would love any leader from any constituency to join  them. “Our door is always open 24X7 even for Mukul Sangma if he wishes.” Tynsong said.
