SHILLONG: It may not be a smooth sailing for Congress leader MM Danggo, who is set o join the NPP as UDP will contest against him in Ranikor during the by election.
UDP president Donkupar Roy confirmed that the party will put up a candidate if there is a by-poll.
Earlier, the UDP members from Ranikor expressed displeasure over Danggo joining the NPP since the party was not consulted though it is supporting the NPP led MDA coalition.
Roy told The Shillong Times that there was a confusion with the members of UDP Ranikor regarding Danggo joining NPP.
Roy also clarified that the party has nothing to do with Congress affected by Danggo’s move or NPP which is gaining from it.
