GH school felicitates visually impaired student

WILLIAMNAGAR: With a view to encourage and inspire the students with physical disabilities, Educere Secondary School, Williamnagar, felicitated visually impaired student, Chonkame Sangma at the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills, Ramkumar S on May 19.
According to the Principal of the school, Gamchi Timre R Marak, despite having visual impairment, Chonkame Sangma had done well in this year’s SSLC examination with 61% of total marks. She wanted to pursue her studies in Science but Williamnagar Govt. College and Rongrenggre Govt. Higher Secondary School denied her admission, the principal lamented.
Deputy Commissioner of the district, Ramkumar S, however, assured to get her admission in Loyola College, one of the premiere institutions in the district capital. He also assured to get her a specially designed cell-phone with a magnifying glass
