Missing girl’s body recovered in Garo Hills

TURA: The body of a 19-year-old girl, who went missing a week ago, has been recovered by South West Garo Hills Police from a forest at Tislakura village under Mahendraganj police station.
The victim, Reena Barman went missing on the night of June 13 and a report was filed by relatives the next day.
Search for the missing girl led to the recovery of her decomposed body on Tuesday night from a forest barely one and a half kilometers from her residence at Barmanpara, Majerchar under Mahendraganj police station.
Police were able to identify the body from the clothes she was wearing.
“We discovered the body on Tuesday night. However, due to difficulties posed by darkness it was left under guard overnight and recovered on Wednesday morning. Post mortem was conducted at the site after which the body was handed over to the family,” District SP Bobby Momin said.
The post mortem report is still awaited. A case of kidnapping and murder has been registered.
