Synod school fetes meritorious students

SHILLONG: Synod Higher Secondary School celebrated the achievements of its meritorious students of SSLC and HSSLC on Friday.
The felicitation programme was graced by local MLA of North Shillong Adelbert Nongrum as the chief guest along with members of the Managing Committee of the school and other invitees.
The school chose the day to commemorate as Thomas Jones Day along with the programme with Rev SS Majaw speaking a few words regarding the Christian missionary.
The school secured 100 percent pass percentage in the SSLC and HSSLC( Arts and Commerce) results in with Baphiralin Synrem bagged 15th position ( 92.5%) and Hilary Khongjee 18th position (92%) .
Special awards in memory of former principals and teachers were given to students securing the highest marks in different subjects.
The highlight of the programme was a telephonic message from the co-founder of the school Bethan Richards from Wales.
The former teacher expressed her happiness and gratitude to God, the source of all knowledge.
In her welcome address, the principal of the school A Phira expressed her appreciation to all those who were involved in the excellent result of the school.
The school received a monetary contribution from the local MLA.
