Teachers’ body petitions for hike in salary

SHILLONG: The All Garo Hills 4th Teachers Association petitioned the Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui urging him to enhance the salary of the 4th teachers to be at par with the assistant teachers.
‘The Assistant teachers draw a sum of Rs.9900 whereas after such a long gap of period, the 4th teachers draw Rs 6000,” the petition said.
The group also said that the 4th Teachers of SSA U P school who have been appointed in the state have not been regularised in the service, although many years have passed and the group wants the government to regularise them.
