EJH school felicitates meritorious students

JOWAI: 35 students of Tia Chaphrang Higher Secondary School, Sohkymphor in East Jaintia Hills were felicitated by the school for excelling in SSLC and HSSLC examinations.
The felicitation programme was held on Saturday at the school premises.
According to the school principal, Protasius Suiam, out of the 35 students who appeared for SSLC, 33 got through the examination. 15 students also appeared for HSSLC Arts where 13 of them secured first division.
AJYWO chief, MH Dkhar attended as the chief guest while Sohkymphor Mission headman, Kmenlang Lapasam was the guest of honour.
Tia Chaphrang Higher Secondary School is a private institution and it is in the remote area of East Jaintia Hills, Sohkymphor Village- a coal mining area.
The school was started by Suiam who is engaged in coal mining business along with his wife who was a primary school teacher. The school also provides free education to orphans in the area.
