GUWAHATI: As part of promoting the Centre’s Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, India Tourism, Northeast in association with a city-based organisation will conduct a four-day summer workshop for children at the Assam State Museum here from July 3.
The workshop titled “Essentials” will be open for children in two age groups, 5-10 years and 11-16 years. Story telling competitions will be held among the junior group children while sessions on health basics, money vitals, oratory powers and quiz will be held for the senior group.
“We are associating with Headway Intel Club for this value-added skill workshop for children as it has been a platform for honing creative writing skills, vocabulary, expressions and public speaking among students,” Shoeb Samad, regional director (NE), India Tourism told reporters here on Monday.
“On the concluding day, a panel discussion on the topic, ‘Value Added by Travel in Education’ among distinguished guests followed by an interaction with parents and children. So we look forward to maximum participation of school children,” Samad said.
The Apollo Group and Childline is supporting the event.
The government of India had launched the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative in October 2016 with the objective of promoting engagement among people of states/Union Territories so as to enhance mutual understanding and bonding between people of diverse cultures, thereby securing stronger unity and integrity of India.
