KSU lends support to demand for Ranikor sub-division

SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Ranikor circle, has lent their voice to the growing demand to upgrade the Ranikor administrative unit to Civil Sub-Division.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday at the office of the union, the KSU president of Ranikor circle, Marconi Thongni said the demand for civil sub-division at Ranikor had been a long pending one.

With a population of over 50,000 and 160 villages falling under the Ranikor, he said that Ranikor administrative unit deserved to be upgraded to a Civil Sub-Division.

On the other hand, the union also pointed out that either Umdohlun or Wahkaji should be upgraded to Community and Rural Development Block.
