New Delhi:  Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday inaugurated an exhibition on the Emergency which displayed news clippings and letters exchanged between arrested political leaders during the period.
Union Minister Vijay Goel said the exhibition was held in order to inform the people about the “darkest period of Indian democracy”.
Taking a dig at the Congress for suppressing the media during the 1975-77 Emergency, Paswan asserted that the Modi government would return to power in 2019.
At the inauguration, Union Ministers Thawarchand Gehlot and Kalraj Mishra spoke about the “atrocities” by the government of Indira Gandhi who clamped the Emergency.(IANS)
