SHILLONG: The central executive committee (CEC) of the Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) announced the candidates for the 2019 Council elections.
They are Thomas Passah and Rocky Hek as candidates who will contest from Jaiaw constituency and Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah Constituency respectively.
In a statement issued here, the CEC of the party held a meeting on Tuesday to decide on the names of the candidates from the two constituencies as confusion prevailed with many aspirants vying for the party ticket.
The statement said there were three to five aspirants for the ticket from Jaiaw constituency and Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah Constituency respectively.
The party will reveal the first list of candidates at the earliest.
