SHILLONG: The central executive committee (CEC) of the Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) announced the candidates for the 2019 Council elections.
The candidates, Thomas Passah and Rocky Hek will contest from Jaiaw constituency and Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah Constituency respectively.
In a statement issued here, the CEC of the party held a meeting on Tuesday to decide on the names of the candidates from the two constituencies as confusion prevailed with many aspirants vying for the party ticket.
The statement said there were 3 and 5 aspirants for the ticket from Jaiaw constituency and Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah Constituency respectively. KHNAM will release the first list of candidates at the earliest.
The party is yet to decide candidates for JHADC.
