Man held for inappropriately touching woman

Mawkyrwat: A 23-year-old Willbok Lyngdoh Mawshillong of Mawten village, South West Khasi Hills was arrested for inappropriately touching and threatening a woman at Mawkyrwat market.
According to the FIR filed by the woman at Mawkyrwat Police Station, the incident happened on Wednesday at around 9:30 pm when the woman was returning home from her work.
‘On reaching Mawkyrtwat market, Marshillong, who was under the influence of alcohol, grabbed the woman from behind and inappropriately touched her, muffled her mouth with his hand, slapped and threatened her with dire consequences’, the FIR said.
South West Khasi Hills SP HG Lyngdoh informed that inquiry has been conducted and a case has been registered. The accused has been arrested and forwarded to court.
