SHILLONG: A section of the residents of Umtrew and Umsning village in Ri-Bhoi district on Thursday petitioned Deputy Commissioner of the district on the obstruction of the road by NHAI from Umtrew Bridge to Umsning Nongthymmai since June 8.
The residents petitioned that the NHAI workers are dumping the soil on the road making it difficult for people and vehicles to pass through.
Elders of the village had approached the NHAI authority following which they had assured to clear the way within 2-3 days but till date they have not done anything as workers kept dumping more soil on the way.
In this connection, the residents appealed to the DC to order the clearing of the road.
