Maj Gen P C Nair new IG of IGAR (North)

GUWAHATI: Major General Pradeep C Nair, has been appointed as the Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) on Saturday. He takes over as the 18th Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), a defence source informed.

The General Officer is an alumnus of Sainik School Satara, National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy and got commissioned to 18 Sikh in December, 1985.

He has vast experience of the North East having served in Sikkim, Nagland, Manipur and Assam. The General Officer has also served in Assam Rifles earlier. The General Officer has commanded his battalion at Assam, Faizabad and in Siachen. He commanded a Brigade in Manipur, wherein he was awarded the Yudh Seva Medal.

In a solemn ceremony Major General Sanjay Gupta handed over the charge to Major General Pradeep C Nair, and wished him a professionally satisfying and successful tenure as IGAR (North).
