Cairo, Jul 3 (PTI) Three terrorists were killed in anti-terror raids in the restive North and Central Sinai in the past few days, Egyptian military forces said here today. As many as 59 suspected and wanted terrorists were also arrested during the operations, it said in a statement. The raids were part of the comprehensive anti-terror ‘Sinai 2018’ campaign, which was launched earlier in February. The military forces also raided and destroyed 285 hideouts which contained munitions and explosive devices, the statement said. Twelve unlicensed vehicles, used by terrorists in their attacks against security forces, were destroyed during the raids.  Egypt has been facing a wave of terror attacks in which hundreds of security personnel and civilians were killed since the military ouster of former Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013 following a mass protest against his rule.
