SHILLONG: An online educational website Edurial was launched on Wednesday. The website aims to provide access to study material in the form of videos, notes, presentations, mock tests and solved questions to students.
NCP MLA Saleng Sangma attended the pre-launch of the website and spoke about the lack of quality education in the state especially in Mathematics and Science.
Terming the website as a guide book, he said, “It will help students who cannot afford to go for tuitions in addition to students from the rural areas.”
The Edurial team consists of its founders, Hanif Syiemlieh and Natalia Shullai and team members Tahir Khan, Romario Lyngdoh, Samhaoo Passah, Debashish Das, Bikash Boro and Abhijit Das.
“We are in the process of developing an app. There are no teachers only animated videos, animation and solved question papers. It is all about teaching in a fun way. We have simplified it in the form of animation,” Founder Shullai said.
To access the website, students have to pay Rs 3 per day or get an encrypted DVD at Re 1. Registered students can have an interactive forum with the faculties under Edurial.
