MAWKYRWAT: The United Democratic Party (UDP) Ranikor Circle has maintained that the party is more united than ever and is prepared to contest the upcoming by-election against five-time MLA and NPP candidate, M.M Danggo.
Secretary, Youth Wing and Media Cell of the party, R. Bahunlang Sanglein on Wednesday appealed to the supporters and party workers not to be misled by rumours that claimed that the UDP Ranikor Circle might split due to differences within the party.
“All the supporters and leaders right from the circle level down to the primary units remain united and have committed to work harder as we know that we can win the election,” Sanglein said.
He also informed that the UDP Ranikor Circle has begun preparations for the by-poll and almost all the primary units have been re-organised to strengthen the party in the constituency.
He also said that the party will hold a meeting at Nongnah village to welcome leaders of other political parties from Thangrai and Nongbah who are joining the UDP.
He also said that UDP Ranikor Circle will soon hold another meeting and invitation will be sent to leaders from other political parties including PDF Chairman P.N Syiem.
“We are very happy to see the initiative taken by P.N Syiem who wants a common candidate for the by-poll and we hope that he will take the right decision for the better future of the people of Ranikor,” Sanglein said.
