SHILLONG: The KHADC CEM, P.N Syiem, said the differences with NPP will be discussed in the coordination committee of MDA partners.
The PDF chief had on Wednesday threatened to withdraw support to the NPP-led MDA government over the move of four NPP MDCs to come out of the PDA coalition in KHADC.
However, Syiem said on Thursday that the issues will be discussed in the coordination committee of MDA.
PDF held an emergency meeting attended by all the four MLAs and the decision was made to iron out differences by holding talks with MDA.
Common candidate
Syiem said the exercise was still on to have a common candidate to contest the Ranikor by-poll. Another round of meeting will be held at Wahkaji to discuss the need to field a common candidate, he said.
Sources said the choice will be between UDP’s Pius Marwein and PDF’s Syiem.
Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong said NPP has nothing to do with the move of Syiem to project himself as a candidate.
“Even though NPP is putting up a candidate, we cannot stop any member of the coalition government or others from contesting the Ranikor by-election,” he said.
