Conrad to seek allies support for by-poll

SHILLONG:  Chief Minister and NPP National President, Conrad Sangma who is gearing up for the South Tura by- polls will appeal to the coalition partners to   support his candidature in the all important polls.

Conrad Sangma to continue as the Chief Minister of the state would have to win the  by-election to South Tura Assembly constituency which has been vacated by Agatha Sangma.

Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Conrad Sangma said that he was proceeding to Tura and the party would meet there to take a call on the matter.The meeting will be attended by the regional as well as constituency leaders  of the party.

“ It will be our request and   we will appeal to the coalition partners to support us but decision will be entirely theirs,” Sangma told reporters.

When asked if South Tura by- polls would be  a cake walk for him, he said that no elections was easy and all party have to put their best shots to win any election.
