Civil Sub-Division
The Dalu Units Garo Student Union, A•chik Youth Welfare Organisation, Garo Hills State Movement Committee, Mother’s Union, A’king Nokmas and NGOs conducted a meeting at GSU office Dalu to demand the creation of Civil Sub-Division of the Dalu Block. Around 34 A’king Nokmas attended the meeting. In the meeting, it was decided to select five representatives of A•king Nokma and headman of the villages and two representatives of senior citizen of the Dalu area. The Nokmas have demanded to organise a public meeting regarding the Civil Sub-Division. 

MUPSTA meet
The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association, Jaintia Hills will hold its regional executive committee at  Tympang Club School, Iawmustang, Jowai at 10.30 am on July 14. The members of the regional committee including all the officials of the Sub Divisional Units and District Units of Jaintia Hills have been urged to attend the meeting without fail.

Cultural event
Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban, organised dance and quiz competition as part of 11th Inter-Shillong Cultural Event at RLSSCO Auditorium, Bishnupur on Sunday. The event, which commenced on June 17, concluded Sunday.

Prize distribution
Geetali- a socio cultural organisation, Laban, has organised Rabindra – Najrul Sandha and prize distribution ceremony of recently concluded Intra Club Mohon Sen Memorial Carrom Competition and Inter Club Partha Sarati Dutta Memorial Carrom Competition at Harishava Community Hall, Harishava on Saturday. The chief guest of the programme was MLA Sanbor Shullai, who handed over the trophies to all the winners. A musical evening was also presented by the artistes from the Club on Rabindra-Najrul Jayanti.

Awareness programme
Reach Shillong Ministries through the financial assistance from the office of Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District under the Voluntary Action Fund, organised a two-day awareness programme on the “Prevention of Child Trafficking” for children attending the Open Day Shelter managed by the Ministry, at Lam Jingshai Youth Centre on Saturday. Dr Twinkle S R Marak, Assistant Director, Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute, inaugurated the programme as the chief guest.
