USTM signs MoU with Uskudar University, Istanbul

USTM, Ninth Mile (Guwahati): The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uskudar University, Istanbul, Turkey on Monday. The MoU was signed by Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, Rector of Uskudar University and Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor of USTM at the Rector’s office in the university in Turkey. Vice Rector Prof. Mehmet Zelka and vice President Prof. Muhsin Konuk, Prof. Akhtar Siddiqui, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi, Prof. Suhail Sabir, Aligarh Muslim University and Prof. Gous Mashkoor Khan of JNU, New Delhi were also present on the occasion.

The MoU was signed in order to extend mutual cooperation and to promote mutual understanding between Uskudar University, Istanbul, Turkey and University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya, India. The two universities agreed to enter into the protocol on promotion of joint research works including exchange of faculty and research members, development of student exchange programme and organization of programmes granting duel diplomas in conformity with the legislation of both countries, exchange of academic research data and related materials, cooperation in publication activities and cultural activities, organization of joint academic and scientific activities such as conferences, seminars, symposiums and congresses. The MoU has been effective from the time of signing till five years, on the completion of which it could be extended further.
