Rs. 50K fine for selling liquor in EKH village

SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong of Mawkathein village which is nearby Smit in East Khasi Hills has cancelled the licenses of liquor shops, rice beer shops and other shops selling alcoholic drinks from May 1.
The Dorbar Shnong said if anyone is found to have violated the orders, they will be fined Rs 50,000 and reward of Rs 15,000 will be given to those who will help the village council in finding out those who violate the order.
