SHILLONG: Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek has said there is a need to regulate cost of medical treatment in government as well as private hospitals in the state.
When asked if there is any regulation on the high rate of treatment in hospitals and clinics across Meghalaya, Hek said, “There is no regulation as of now as government hospitals charge their own rates and private hospitals their own for treatment.”
Admitting that there should be regulations, Hek appreciated the suggestion and said the government would take up the matter on how to regulate the expensive medical treatments in hospitals.
