HS Shylla elected CEM of KHADC

SHILLONG: The NPP MDC HS Shylla was elected as the new Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) under the Khasi Hills Democratic Alliance (KHDA).

However, Grace Mary Kharpuri who filed her nomination for the post of CEM was absent on the day of the election.

The Pro-tem Chairperson presiding over the election of CEM was Teilinia Thangkhiew following the sudden resignation of LG Nongsiej as Chairman ahead of the election on Thursday.

Thangkhiew during the session informed, “Since Grace Mary Kharpuri who is one of the candidate did not take part in the election, hence, HS Shylla is elected as the new CEM.”
