ULFA (I) lauds Hima for Finland feat

GUWAHATI: United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) has congratulated sprinter Hima Das for winning gold in junior world championships in Finland last Thursday.

In a statement issued here on Sunday by the publicity department of the militant outfit, ULFA (I) also lauded her parents and coaching staff.

“We hope that such dedication of Hima and the efforts of her parents and coaching staff will bring more laurels to Assam in the days to come,” Rumel Asom, member of the publicity department, ULFA (I), said.

Hima, who came first in the finals of the 400metres race for women, also became the first Indian athlete to have won gold in the track and field event of a global event.
