SHILLONG: The youth wing of Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) has threatened to file an FIR against the Director of North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy (NEIAH) for violation of Article 16 of the Constitution of India.

The KHNAM filed an RTI regarding an advertisement by North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy (NEIAH) recently in which it had sought information from the director on the number of candidates and their names short listed for various post mentioned in the advertisement.

Although, the KHNAM received the RTI, yet the reply was not relevant to the information sought in the RTI.

In a statement issued here, KHNAM youth wing president, Thomas Passah said that exams conducted for various post in year  2016 would be cancelled in toto, due to the notification/direction received from the Central Ministry.

“However, it is observed that few post notified by you have been filled up, for e.g, Staff Nurse, Dietician etc, while re-examination is being conducted for other post notified in the same advertisement which is biased and violation of the article 16 of the constitution of India “Equality of opportunity in matters of Public employment,” he said.

The KHNAM claimed that a few post notified by the Director have been filled up such as staff nurse, dietician etc.

Being informed that re-examination of selected post would be conducted on August 23, the regional political party threatened that it would be compelled to stop the re-examination on the given date.

“If after proper justification re-examination is conducted, only the domicile of Meghalaya would be allowed to attend the re-test,” Passah said.

The regional political party stated that any notification/direction received should have been implemented in uniformity, if so required.

“Re-examination of selected post seems like an attempt of NEIAH to facilitate residents from outside Meghalaya in this post,” Passah said.
